What is the manual lymphatic drainage?

Manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) is a special form of massage that uses gentle, rhythmic grip techniques to stimulate the drainage of tissue fluid (lymph) via the lymph channels.
The aim is to reduce congestion and swelling in the body, improve blood circulation and promote tissue regeneration.

The therapy is particularly gentle, has a calming effect on the autonomic nervous system and can also provide lasting support for chronic illnesses or after operations.

How to get back to your everyday life

At the beginning of each massage, we have a short discussion to understand your complaints and needs. Based on this, we will determine whether lymphatic drainage is the right treatment for you.

  1. Personal preliminary talk
We listen and clarify whether it is lymph congestion, post-operative swelling or other complaints that should be treated with manual lymph drainage.
  2. Gentle, targeted treatment
Your lymphatic flow is specifically stimulated using gentle, rhythmic massage techniques. We work systematically from the central lymph nodes to the affected areas of the body to promote the removal of fluid and metabolic products.
  3. Debriefing and recommendations
We will discuss how you can support the effect of lymphatic drainage, e.g. through light exercise, drinking enough fluids or wearing compression garments. If necessary, we can also prepare reports for your doctor or other interdisciplinary consultations.
