PHYSIOTHERAPIE

Physiotherapy is a generic term for a number of different treatments. We provide the following treatments:

Manual Therapy / Orthopaedic Manual Therapy (OMT)

Within physiotherapy, orthopaedic manual therapy specialises in the treatment of muscular skeletal problems. We do not simply regard your complaints as a purely biomedical problem, we also take into consideration your personality, your behaviour as well as the circumstances of your daily life. Together, whilst searching for a solution to your problems, we will find the most effective treatment to permanently cure your symptoms.

Sport physiotherapy

Sports therapy is used to prevent and treat faulty posture and overexertion or injuries during training and competitions and also to aid rehabilitation after sports injuries. So you take part in amateur or competitive sports? Let our trained sports physiotherapists support you in achieving your sporting goals.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage

Manual lymphatic drainage is used to resorb swollen tissue. Special, rhythmic, circular and pumping manipulation supports resorption of the accumulated liquid. Swelling of the tissue decreases, pain is reduced and your tissue is softer and looser again. Manual lymphatic drainage is only performed by physiotherapists specialized in this treatment.

Myofascial trigger point therapy

Trigger point therapy is only performed on patients by specially trained physiotherapists and doctors. In addition to the manual techniques used to deactivate trigger points and to loosen connective tissue, we also use subsequent treatments to stretch and relax the muscles thereby increasing their functionality.

Dry Needling

Dry Needling enables the therapist to treat trigger points which are located deep down in the muscle or which are not easily accessed accurately. In dry needling treatment, a very thin acupuncture needle is inserted into the trigger point causing or supporting your complaint. By doing this, the muscle cramps and subsequently relaxes helping very tense muscles to relax and improve circulation of blood within the muscle. Dry Needling is an effective method and a valuable addition to myofascial trigger point therapy.

Craniomandibular Dysfunction (CMD)

CMD is a generic term for structural, functional, biochemical and psychic faulty regulation of the muscle and temporomandibular joint function. As the causes for this can be many and varied, precise analysis of your symptoms are crucial for successful treatment. In addition to the correct work hypothesis it is very important that the patient understands how all these aspects are connected. Good interdisciplinary cooperation with the doctor treating the patient (possibly occlusion retainer, medication etc.) is equally as important as physiotherapy and electrotherapy. The practical instructions we provide ensure the patient can continue treatment at home with lasting results.

Taping

1. Kinesio Taping is a type of treatment which involves taping elastic, textile and, if requested, colourful adhesive tape onto the patient‘s skin to reactively and positively influence bodily structures (muscles, ligaments, joints and lymphatic vessels). 2. Classic stabilising tapes are functional adhesive tapes which provide stability for your joint, e.g. after ligament injury. They also relieve pain. Furthermore, they help avoid unwanted movement and therefore enable weight to be put on the injured structure sooner.

Physiotherapy during pregnancy

If you have back pain during pregnancy, then physiotherapy is the therapy to go for. Depending on what kind of pain you are suffering from, gentle stabilizing and strengthening exercises, stretching and mobility exercises, even manipulation therapy and lymphatic drainage treatment, can all be effective. We also provide helpful tips you can use in everyday life, at work and whilst you are giving birth.

Electrotherapy

Our state-of-the-art medical electrotherapy equipment enables us to provide a wide variety of different types of electrical treatment. This type of therapy stimulates local metabolism thus improving the healing process. It also reduces pain and / or improves muscle and joint function. Using our mobile, cordless Compex therapy equipment during your sessions at our practice, you can optimize muscle activity and thus increase muscle growth too. We are happy to advise you on which type of electrical impulse works best for you.

Ultrasound therapy

A special ultrasound gel creates a connection between the transducer and your skin. The sound waves get up to 5 cm deep into the tissue (e.g. ligaments, tendons, bursa, etc.) and there, by stimulating the metabolism, have a pain-relieving and regenerative effect. Just like electrotherapy, we also use ultrasound treatment in addition to other physiotherapeutic measures.

Radial shock wave therapy
