Frequently asked questions

Sports physiotherapy is a specialised form of physiotherapy that deals specifically with the treatment, rehabilitation and prevention of injuries in people who are active in sport. It is used for both acute injuries and chronic symptoms of overuse - and helps you to regain or even improve your physical performance.

In contrast to traditional physiotherapy, sports physiotherapy is particularly aimed at people with sport-specific strains. It combines physiotherapeutic techniques with functional training to optimise movement sequences, compensate for imbalances and ensure a safe and efficient return to sport.

Sports physiotherapy at PhysioART is aimed at anyone who wants to specifically improve their physical performance or restore it after an injury - regardless of whether you are an ambitious amateur athlete or train professionally.

Sports physiotherapy is particularly suitable for

- Hobby & recreational athletes who want to have sports-related complaints such as muscle strains, tendon irritation or joint problems treated
- Competitive athletes who want to prepare specifically for competitions or return to training after injuries
- Patients after sports injuries such as torn cruciate ligaments, torn ligaments, muscle or tendon injuries
- People with chronic overuse pain, e.g. in the knee, shoulder or Achilles tendon
- People with muscular imbalances, poor posture or restricted mobility
- Sports beginners who want to work preventively on technique, mobility or stability

Sports physiotherapy is also a useful addition after operations or in aftercare following physiotherapy rehabilitation measures - with the aim of regaining long-term stability, strength and coordination.

Our work can be divided into four central areas:

1. acute intervention

In the event of acute injuries - for example on the sports field or during training - quick, expert help is essential. Initial measures such as stabilisation, cooling or targeted mobilisation have a decisive influence on the healing process.

2. rehabilitation

Targeted recovery begins after operations or injuries. In addition to manual techniques, the focus is on active exercises in the training room - individually adapted to your resilience and type of sport.

3. prevention of injuries

Preventing injuries is a central goal of our work. By analysing movement patterns and building stability and strength, we help you to correct imbalances and minimise the risk of future complaints.

4. performance enhancement & sport-specific training

Whether for competition or everyday life - targeted training promotes endurance, strength, coordination and mobility. Based on functional tests, we develop training plans that are tailored to your goals.

With a doctor's prescription, sports physiotherapy is usually covered by basic insurance. However, you can also come to us without a prescription - in this case we will bill the treatment privately.
