Early detection of restrictions & imbalances
Basis for customised, targeted training
Ideal for beginners, athletes & rehab patients
Objective assessment through standardised movement analysis
Preventive, performance-enhancing & therapy-accompanying use
The Functional Movement Screen (FMS) is an internationally proven analysis method for the assessment of basic movement patterns.
The aim is to, Quality of movement and functional stability not maximum strength or endurance.
The test includes Seven standardised movement exercisesthat simulate typical everyday or sports movements - for example:
deep squat
Lunge with rotation
Shoulder mobility
Leg lift in supine position
Plank positions with movement tasks
Each exercise is according to a points system (0-3 points) evaluated. Abnormalities show where there are muscular weaknesses, instabilities or restricted movement - often before pain occurs.
The Functional Movement Screen is suitable for
Sports beginners to analyse the basis of movement
Athletes for injury prevention and performance optimisation
Rehab patients for returning to training and everyday life
People with recurring complaints (e.g. back, knee, shoulder)
Trainers & therapistswho are looking for an objective measuring instrument
The FMS results help to make training plans more targeted - and to avoid unnecessary strain.
Restricted movement and compensation patterns lead to incorrect strain in the long term - and increase the risk of
Joint wear and tear (e.g. knee, hip, shoulder)
Tendon irritation & muscle tension
Chronic back pain
Recurrent sports injuries
With the FMS, these risks can be recognised at an early stage and corrected with targeted exercises. before the complaints arise.
Yes - optimally even! We often use it for training control in rehab.
FTP measures the threshold power, but not:
How well you recover
How strong your Mental resilience is
How efficient your Technology or Cadence is
How well your Nutrition Your training supports
A holistic training approach therefore always takes several factors into account.
