What is a Ultrasound therapy?

Ultrasound therapy is an established physical treatment method in which high-frequency sound waves are directed specifically into the painful tissue.
These sound waves create a micromechanical vibration in the cells, which stimulates blood circulation and cell metabolism. This can reduce inflammation more quickly and promote tissue regeneration.

In combination with a contact gel, the transducer is applied directly to the affected area of the body - the treatment is painless and pleasantly warming.

When is ultrasound therapy useful?

Ultrasound therapy is particularly suitable for

  • Muscle tension and stiffness
  • Tendonitis (e.g. tennis elbow, Achillodynia)
  • Inflammation of the bursa (bursitis)
  • Joint pain (e.g. osteoarthritis)
  • Scar or tissue adhesions
  • Postoperative complaints
  • Chronic inflammation of the musculoskeletal system

Ultrasound therapy is often Complementary to classical physiotherapy especially for persistent or deep-seated complaints.

This is how ultrasound therapy works

  1. Medical history & individualised coordination
We clarify your complaints, objectives and whether ultrasound is the appropriate method.
  2. Applying the contact gel
A special gel is applied to the skin so that the sound waves are optimally transmitted.
  3. Treatment with the ultrasound probe
The transducer is moved in a circular motion over the affected area - the treatment takes about 10-15 minutes.
  4. Optional: combination with active therapy
Depending on requirements, we supplement this with manual therapy, lymphatic drainage or training.
